Here’s Some Animations I Like

Meg Pokrass is doing something kind of brilliant. She’s making animated short shorts using that text-to-movie software that’s generally used for those “So You Want To…” animations (i.e. So You Want To Write A Novel, So You Want To Get An MFA In Poetry).

Here’s a few I thought were particularly awesome and hilarious.

“Once someone notices dog lips, they have hit the big time.” — “The Birthday Tryst”

“I adore a woman who fluently uses outdated words.” — “Happy Men Who Wear Moss Green”

“My friends say you are a total MILF. Maybe you should gain some weight and grow a bunion on your face.” — “Mom Mistaken for Cougar at Dinner.”

“To identify another brother in public, extend one foot as to shake it normally, then curl in your middle toe to scratch the middle to of the other brother.” “Fancy Meeting You, Another Sigma Why!“

He was the founding Sunday editor at The Rumpus and is the current nonfiction editor at The Nervous Breakdown. He is a Dornsife PhD Fellow at USC and been awarded fellowships and residencies by Ucross, Lambda Literary, Jentel, Ragdale, and elsewhere, and he teaches at the UCLA-Extension Writer’s Program and Antioch University, where he received his MFA.
