According to the Global Kilimanjaro Bowl website, the first ever organized game of American Football has been played on the African continent, between a Mexican team, the CONADEIP All Stars, and the Drake University Bulldogs. There’s no money in it for the teams–each member of the Drake team, for example, had to raise $4,000 just to make the trip.
Spoiler alert: Drake won the game 17-7.
