The New Yorker’s history of expletive usage and pioneering is recounted by the Awl in list-form. Times have changed, along with the editors at the New Yorker and this in turn, has changed how often profanity appears in the magazine. Also, Gabriel Garcia Marquez made the list of offenders twice.
