Jose Antonio Vargas considers his life as an undocumented immigrant in the NY Times Magazine, tracing back his entrance into the US as a twelve year-old, to his college graduation and career as a journalist. Though America is the country he calls home, this is not legally reciprocated and the fear and obstacles that this fosters is a reality for many people living in America.
“There are believed to be 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. We’re not always who you think we are. Some pick your strawberries or care for your children. Some are in high school or college. And some, it turns out, write news articles you might read.”

No matter what your position on the issue, this is a heart-wrenching story and the man definitely deserves better. I am a legal immigrant and am torn on the issue. I have thought long and hard of the solutions and I hope to blog them sometime on my website (too long to post here) as soon as I compose my thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
