This time next week, I’ll be living in Des Moines, Iowa. Anyone want to help me unload a truck?
I had some minor food allergies as a kid, and I carried an inhaler back when that sort of shit got you beaten up in grade school, but Sandra Beasley has it way worse. Read her piece on being the allergy girl.
Having trouble remembering which hacker group did what? Here you go.
Is Mad Men too pop for us? I’ll take the chance. What would Don Draper do?
Do you have Google+ now and you’re trying to figure out how to use it? Here’s a manual (of sorts). It’s a collaborative document that you can contribute to as well.
The Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off yesterday. It was the last flight for the Shuttle program. I was 15 when I saw the Space Shuttle Enterprise in person at the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans, and I’d already been a fan for a long time. I’m a child of the space age, after all, born the year before Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon. But I couldn’t watch today. It made me sad, even though the Shuttle program was never as good as it could have been. But I’ll tell you this much. If I ever win the lottery, the only ridiculous thing I’m buying for myself is a ticket on SpaceShip Two for a ride to low earth orbit. And I’ll go farther if given the chance.
One last personal thing. Happy anniversary to my parents, Sam and Lynn Spears, who are celebrating their 45th year together today.
