WEDNESDAY 8/03: Grab your friends and take-in an old horror film, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, at Riverside Park, Pier 1 at 70th St. 8:30 p.m. Free.
THURSDAY 8/04: It’s a Super Freaks reading with Stacy Carlson, Among the Wonderful, and Alexander Yates, Moondogs, a celebration of two novels featuring unusual main characters. WORD. 7 p.m. Free.
FRIDAY 8/05: Tonight, Meshell Ndegeocello celebrates Gil Scott-Heron by performing his music at The Blue Note. She’ll perform two shows, one at 8 p.m. and one at 10:30 p.m. $20 at the bar, $35 at a table.
SATURDAY 8/06: Brooklyn Museum presents Target First Saturday, with free entry into the museum from 5 to 11 p.m. This month’s theme is “Caribbean Countdown,” featuring talks, performances, film, and a dance party by the Afro-Punk Festival with DJ Jillionaire and reggae rock band The Cool and Deadly.
