The Occupy Wall Street protests enter their second month, and have started to garner a lot more media attention. One of the people responsible for that attention is NYPD Deputy Inspector Johnny Cardona, who spun a protestor around and punched him in the face. The Deputy Inspector is now being formally investigated for his actions.

Mother Jones on the debate over the demands of the Occupy Wall Street–or whether there should be any demands. Count me in among the latter, at least for now. Right now, the important thing (as I see it) is to emphasize the issues of economic inequality. The debate over how to address those issues should happen closer to the next set of elections. But hey, that’s just my opinion. I’m not speaking for anyone else.
