Monday 12/12: The Rumpus and Mother Jones Magazine are teaming up for the December Monthly Rumpus, A Night of Truth and Lies.” Featuring authors Anna Pulley, David Rocklin, Mac McClelland, and Joshua Mohr. Comedy by W. Kamau bell. Music by Sparkbox, and Baby and the Luvies. Plus a bonus “Two Lies and a Truth” game show hosted by the Mother Jones fact-checking department. $10, 7pm, The Make-Out Room, 3225 22nd Street.

Tuesday 12/13: Amra Brooks, Greg Youmans, Fauxnique, and Priscilla Lee anchor tonight’s Radar Reading, part of a series that’s been holding it down in the LGBTQA literary community since 2003. Free, 6pm. SF Public Library Main Branch.

Wednesday 12/14: SF native Victoria Nelson reads from Bestiary of My Heart: Cautionary Tales. Free, 7pm. City Lights. Castro Theater runs a double feature celebrating SF’s famed noir backdrop with Lady on a Train (1945) and Christmas Holiday (1944) in its second annual Noir City Xmas. $10, 7:30pm.

Thursday 12/15: The Chronicle Books three day holiday warehouse sale starts at 9am today – save up to 80% on SF published titles. Flash your receipt at neighboring businesses and get discounts on grilled cheese + other snacks. MMmm.

Friday 12/16: Celebrate noir and revolution from Berkeley to the moon in Send My Love And a Molotov Cocktail: Stories of Crime, Love, and Rebellion. The release party tonight features readings by contributors Summer Brenner and Gary Phillips. Free, 8pm. Green Arcade.

Saturday 12/17: Get in on a citywide symphony with Unsilent Night, NYC based artist Phil Kline’s composition for walkers and bikers through San Francisco. Slims hosts a re-release party for Bay Area pop-punks Lagwagon @ 8pm.
