Guernica has an extensive interview with Nick Flynn, who reflects on the process of translating Another Bullshit Night in Suck City into film, fathers, and the final book in his memoir trilogy.
“I’ve come to a point in my life where I know everything has an effect on my psyche. You just have to recognize it. A lot of things about the movie were things one has no frame of reference for and will probably never happen again. It certainly hit me out of the blue to be asked to actually appear on camera while they do these screen tests that they send to the big eyeball in the sky that watches everything.”
