Monday 4/9: Rachel Kramer Bussel and Susie Wright present co-edited The Best Sex Writing of 2012, a volume of essays on pretty much everything, including “impassioned defense of circumcision to a dating site for people with STDs, nuanced explorations of teen sex laws, prostitution, sex at 66, SlutWalks, female orgasm workshops, and more.” Free, 7:30pm,  Booksmith.

Tuesday 4/10: Monte Schulz reads from recent release The Big Town, a novel exposing  “decadence, wealth and consumption in Jazz Age America as spiritual myopia — where desperate, haunting characters hinge their lives on impossible dreams.” Free, 7:30, Modern Times Books.

Wednesday 4/11: Bawdy Storytelling themes on ‘GeekSexual’ this month, with featured readers Sarah Dopp, founder of GenderFork, and ‘Sex Geek Chic’ educator and Role Model Reid Mihalko. $12 7pm, the Verdi Club.

Thursday 4/12: ZYZZYVA launches its spring issue with readings from contributors Elena Mauli Shapiro, Benjamin T. Miller, and Lindsey Thordarson. Free, 7:30.

Friday 4/13: Nexus ArtReach presents Surreal Superstition: A Night of Art, Music & Poetry with local artists, poets, and musicians presenting work inspired by personal interpretations of superstition. Free, 7:30 The Green Arcade.

Saturday 4/14: Local jewelry artists exhibit at the SFMOMA trunk show, discounts abound (if you’re a member). Local poets on the Pacifica Pier, beginning at 1pm. Writers With Drinks tonight at 7pm, $5.
