This Week in San Francisco!

Monday 6/11: Behavioral economist Dan Ariely returns to Booksmith for more fascinating revelations about counter intuitive human behavior, this time with The Honest Truth About Dishonesty. Free 7:30, Booksmith.

Tuesday 6/12: The Center for the Art of Translation hosts A Night of Fairytales, featuring Kate Bernheimer, Ilya Kaminsky, and Maria Tatar reading from contemporary tales more outright dark and twisted than their classic counterparts. 8:30, $5.

Weds 6/13: Ourshelves, the Mission’s book collective and lending library, presents Excerpts, a reading series for and by the community. 8pm, Donation based, with proceeds benefiting senior center in the Tenderloin.

Thursday 6/14: Ron Schmidt reads from Once Removed, a memoir of his “conflicted journey as a scruple-ridden gay youth,” and development into local author-educator powerhouse. Free 7:30 Books Inc Castro.

Friday 6/15: Literary Clown Foolery: SF Olympians Edition featuring Cabaret, drinks, and  live performance $10, 8pm, Booksmith.

Sunday 6/17: Local poets and contributors to Turtle Island to Abya Yala: An Anthology by Native and Latina Women celebrate the release of this first anthology of its kind. 4pm Modern Times Books.
