Wednesday 7/11: SF Silent Film Fest features free showings today. John Oliver Simon and Mia Kirsi Stageberg, editor of Chicano litmag Caracol, read original work and translations. Thursday 7/12: SMITH Magazine opens the floor for a new set of Six Word Memoirs at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, with storytelling by Bay Area Jewish personalities including SF Chronicle columnist Leah Garchik, Literary Death Match host Alia Volz, Rabbi Noa Kushner, memoirist Piper Kerman, economist Russ Roberts, and writer Amy Keyishian. $10, 6:30pm.
