Tuesday 12/4: Black Hole Cinema features a new banned film this month. Names withheld, but the descriptions goes as “recently banned film regarding creative resistance in an eastern European country.” Free, 8pm.
Wednesday 12/5: Jill Sobule is on at the historic and recently reopened Sweetwater Music Hall, long a local home for outstanding Americana acts. In Mill Valley, 8pm, $15.
Thursday 12/6: Paul Legault reads from his book of translations of Emily Dickinson poetry from English to English. Released by McSweeny’s, this opening for the Emily Dickinson Reader by the press’s annual holiday party. The Make Out Room, $18.
Friday 12/7: Get in on the last first Fridays with the Oakland Art Murmur and check out the Bold Italic’s pop up holiday shop and new street treats like this one. Free, 6pm onwards.
Saturday 12/8: Shake up your holiday craft fair schedule with East bay metalworking studio the Crucible, holding an art sale and open house including live industrial art making performances. Free, 12pm.
