Monday 12/10: Brush up on local history with the Incite/Insight film series, screening Redevelopment, “a complicated look at the callous redevelopment policies that cleared several working-class neighborhoods in San Francisco during the 1960s and early 1970s.” Free, 8pm. New Nothing Cinema.
Tuesday 12/11: Renowned translator Aron Aji returns to City Lights to discuss A Long Day’s Evening, a novel “about desire, faith, and the psychology of prohibited love” penned by Turkish writer Bilge Karasu. Free, 7pm.
Wednesday 12/12: Chronicle Books begins its annual warehouse sale, with up to 80% off titles over 3 days.
Thursday 12/13: The annual Divisadero Holiday Art Walk features gallery openings, drink and food specials, and sales at over two dozen local shops. 6pm-midnight, Divis between Haight and McAllister.
Friday 12/14: Good Vibrations brings the love with special prices on products + free chocolate and drinks at all their outlets. Free, 6-11pm.
Saturday 12/15: There’s a SantaCon all day dance party in SoMa. Dressing like Santa not required for entry, but you probably should do it anyhow.
Sunday 12/16: FemSexComm, a workshop series modeled after the long-running Cal class on female sexuality, toasts the holidays with a film party and discussion on its myriad complex, lovely community-hosted explorations of gender and sex.
