Monday 1/21: Happy Martin Luther King Day. 2013 is the 50th anniversary of I Have A Dream.

Tuesday 1/22: Pushcart Prize winner Susan Steinberg reads from her short story collections Hydroplane and The End of Free Love. Free, 7:30 Moe’s.

Wednesday 1/23: Tracy Kidder discusses his two award-winning books, Mountains Beyond Mountains and The Soul of a New Machine, and art of narrative nonfiction. 7pm, JCCSF.

Thursday 1/24: The Rock Paper Scissors Collective hosts a DIY zine making workshop. Sliding Scale. 6pm. The Meridian Gallery hosts 6 Women Poets with Sirama Bajo, Christina Fisher, Carrie HUnter, Ava Koohbor, Aide Rodiguez Zamudio, and Zynnylyn Thibodeaux. Free, 6pm.

Friday 1/25: Nick Flynn is in conversation with Rebecca Solnit on his new release The Reenactments, an account of the author’s surreal experience of watching his memoir adapted to film. $10, 7:00, St. Cyprian’s (2097 Turk at Lyon).

Saturday 1/26: Afghan poet and novelist Bashir Sakhawarz reads from new release Maargir The Snake Charmer. Free, 7pm The Emerald Tablet.
