Monday 04/01:
Monday night the Poetry Project presents An Evening with Clark Coolidge featuring readings from Coolidge, Peter Gizzi, Marcella Durand, Miles Champion, Ron Padgett, Bill Corbett, Anne Waldman, John Godfrey, Geoffrey Young, and Thurston Moore. St. Mark’s Church, 8pm.

Jackie Clark (Aphoria), Adam Fitzgerald (The Late Parade), Nate Pritts (Right Now More Than Ever), and Jennifer H. Fortin (Mined Muzzle Velocity) will read at the KGB’s Monday Night Poetry Series. KGB Bar (Facebook invite), 7pm, free.

If you’re less interesting in a reading, but still need something with a little literary flair, catch the Lit Crawl NYC Geek Love night. There will be drinking, trivia, and more, including appearances from Emma Straub and Teddy Wayne. PowerHouse Arena, 7pm, $15.

Tuesday 04/02:
Lemony Snicket presents a multimedia book launch event for his latest book The Dark, with illustrations by Jon Klassen. The author (really there!) will sign copies of The Dark after the event. PowerHouse Arena, 4:30pm, free (RSVP requested).

Wednesday 04/03:
Tonight Selected Shorts features a program of Langston Hughes’ Harlem stories. The night will feature actors reading the work of Hughes, including Sonia Manzano (Maria from Sesame Street), Colman Domingo (The Scottsboro Boys; Lincoln) and Daniel Breaker (Passing Strange; Shrek the Musical). Symphony Space, 7:30pm, $28.

Thursday 04/04:
The Conversations on Practice series welcomes Ben Marcus who will discuss his work and the writing life with author Glenn Kurtz. McNally Jackson, 7pm, free.

The Poet’s House hosts poet Clark Coolidge who gives a talk on the work of painter Philip Guston. Kray Hall, 7pm, $10.

Friday 04/05:
Tonight is the first of two nights of tributes to the poet David Rattray on the 20th anniversary of his death. Readers will include Lynne Tillman, Nicole Eisenman, Vincent Fitzgerald, Dia Felix, Basil King & Martha King, Chris Kraus, Betsy Sussler, Liz Kotz, Kevin Cooney, Raymond Foye, Eileen Myles, Thom Donovan, Jim Fletcher, and Ken Chaya. Wonder presents a reading with Brandon Brown, Mina Pam Dick, and Nat Otting. La Sala, 8pm, free.

Saturday 04/06:
The second tribute reading for poet David Rattray, 20 years after his death, is held today with readings from Joanna Furhrman, Robbie Dewhurst, Eileen Myles, Gerrit Lansing, Susie Timmons, Garret Caples, John Godrey, Kim Lyons, Chris Kraus, David Able, Ann Rower, Jesse Browner, George Quasha, M.Mark, and George Green. St. Mark’s Poetry Project, 2pm, free.

Private Line presents GODSPELL: THE BECKONING with readings from Brandon Downing (Mellow Actions), Dana Ward (The Crisis of Infinite Worlds), and Clark Coolidge (88 Sonnets and Book Beginning What and Ending Away). A special chapbook designed for the evening will be available. Music and dancing follow the reading with DJ Nicole Reber. The Gowanus Studio Space, 8pm, free.

Sunday 04/07:
Grantland celebrates the release of their fifth issue of excellent sports writing. The discussion and Q&A will feature Chuck Klosterman, Andy Greenwald, Louisa Thomas, Rafe Bartholomew, and Jonathan Abrams. Bookcourt, 4pm, free.
