Notable San Francisco 4/8-4/13

Monday 4/8: SF native funnyman Nato Green teams up with 3200Stories to present “a series of public conversations and live podcast recordings with famous smart people.” Tonight features graphic novel and comic book writer Gerard Jones. 7pm, $15, Stagewerx.

Tuesday 4/9: CCA’s month of open studios gets literary with the monthly HearSay series turning its spotlight on graduate writing work. Free, 7:30pm, CCA Oakland. Also, free cones.

Wednesday 4/10: Shaping San Francisco organizes lectures excavating our city’s lost history, and this month features Chinese Whispers, the storytelling project about contemporary folk memories of Chinese laborers who built the Transcontinental Railroad and suffered under the Exclusion Act. Free, 7:30 Eric Quezada Center.

Thursday 4/11: Storking Comedy gives you free laughs followed by a round of ‘intrusive interviews’ of the Bay Area comics who brought you there. Featuring Kaseem Bentley, Ben Kolina, and Pam Benjamin. Free, 7:30.

Friday 4/12: Renowned book artist Donald Glaister is in town teaching at the Center for the Book, and this evening’s lecture is free and open to the public. 6pm, Center for the Book.

Saturday 4/13: YBCA and the SF Arts Commission present the Poetry Projection Project, a film collaborative work with WritersCorps youth poetry initiative. Free, 3pm.
