Friday 4/26:The SF Center for the Book is opening up its new digs with a party celebrating all things book making from 6-9pm. Under the Influence gets writers, musicians, and poets onstage to perform inspired by a personally meaningful work of art. Tonight features works inspired by the Mountain Goats, Sandra Cisneros, and L.M. Montgomery, and is taking open audience submissions all week. Free, 7pm, Emerald Tablet.
Saturday 4/27: SOMArts’ Night Light annual multimedia garden party is one night only, featuring light installations, performance, and media projections by 50 local artists. 8pm, $10.
