First, an interview with Joshuah Bearman. He’s the journalist who wrote the article Argo is based on, and he talked to us about the unique challenges and rewards of narrative nonfiction, including “despotic pretenders to the Santa throne.”
Then, an original short story, “My Friend, the Painter Joan Miró.”
Joan Miró would have picked me up at the hospital. He would have taken care of me, made me tea….But I am alone here, trying to control another hot wave of blood from seeping out of me. My knees buckle and I clutch the metal bed frame to steady myself.
