Saturday 6/1: Experience a living literary journal with Enter>Text. This immersive event invites audience members to actively seek out experiences in the space, creating a unique journey for each participant. Created and curated by Henry Hoke and Marco Franco Di Domenico. 8 p.m. at the Concord Space.

Sunday 6/2: Dan Kennedy reads from and signs his new novel, American Spirit. 4 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe.

David Iserson reads from and signs his debut novel, Firecracker. 5 p.m. at Skylight Books.

Rumpus Contributor Wendy C. Ortiz hosts Rhapsodomancy Reading, which features Joe Hall, Elizabeth J. Colen, Dawna Kemper, and Megan McCord. 7 p.m. at The Good Luck Bar. 21 and over only. $5 suggested donation at door.

Monday 6/3: Lisa Hanawalt reads and signs her novel, My Dirty Dumb Eyes. 7:30 p.m. at Skylight Books.

Tuesday 6/4: The Moth presents: Beauty. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the story slam begins at 7:30 p.m. at Zanzibar in Santa Monica. $8 tickets at the door. 21+ event.

Wednesday 6/5: Steph Cha discusses and signs Follow Her Home. 7 p.m. at Vroman’s.

Thursday 6/6: ALOUD presents Americanah: A Novel. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie discusses her powerful new novel with fellow author Faith Adiele. 7:15 p.m. at the Downtown Public Library’s Mark Taper Forum. Free event, but RSVPs are required.

Friday 6/7: PEN center USA presents the Literary Stage at the Jubilee Music and Arts Festival on both Friday and Saturday. Friday’s schedule: 6 p.m. Tongue & Groove, hosted by Conrad Romo. 7 p.m. Emerging Voices Fellowship, hosted by PEN Center USA. 8 p.m. Hot Dish à la carte, hosted by Rumpus Contributor J. Ryan Stradal. The event takes place at a private lot in the Los Angeles Arts District. Click on “Venue” from the Jubilee page.

The second annual “LGBT Writers Who Inspired Us” sets the tone for Pride Weekend. Writers Bernard Cooper, Eduardo Santiago, Myriam Gurba, Alexis Fancher, Trebor Healy read the works of  LGBT literati Reynaldo Arenas, Susan Sontag, Tom Spanbauer and more. Curated by Noel Alumit. 7:30 p.m. at Skylight Books.

Richard Lange reads from and signs his new novel, Angel Baby. 7:30 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe.

Xach Fromson is a native Angeleno and the co-host/co-founder of Shades & Shadows, a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/etc. reading series here in LA. He studied creative writing at California State University Northridge, where he worked on The Northridge Review. He received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of California Riverside Palm Desert Low Residency program, and is finishing his first novel.
