A few months back, legendary indie rock band Sebadoh quietly posted 5 new tracks on their Bandcamp page.
Those tracks are now being officially released by Joyful Noise Recordings as Secret EP, a precursor to an LP titled Defend Yourself that will be released by Joyful Noise on September 17th.
It’s been 14 years since Sebadoh, the longtime project of Lou Barlow, Jason Loewenstein, and Bob D’Amico, last released an album. According to the band’s press release, Defend Yourself “marks a return to the self-recorded DIY ethos of early Sebadoh albums (Sebadoh III, Bakesale).” Barlow shares his thoughts on the new album here. Nine summer tour dates have already been posted.
Secret EP is streaming over at Spin, and it’s available for purchase on vinyl and mp3 now.
