Friday 7/5: Green Apple Books hosts Julian Guthrie for the launch of The Millionaire and the Mechanic, Guthrie’s coverage of Larry Ellison’s decade of preparation to assemble a winning America’s Cup team. Free, 5pm.

Saturday 7/6: Oakland’s second annual Beast Crawl features more than 140 writers in bars, galleries, and bookstores across uptown. Free, 5pm.
