The next Letter in the Mail, going out Thursday, August 15, is from none other than Brian Spears!
Brian is a mainstay at The Rumpus. He’s our poetry editor and he runs our book clubs. If you participate in any of our book club chats, you’ve e-met Brian; if not, you can e-meet him on Twitter. He’s also a poet in his own right. His collection A Witness in Exile is one of many reasons he landed a spot on Flavorwire’s recent list of 23 exciting contemporary poets.
A teacher at Drake University, Brian lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife Amy Letter, his daughter Brittany, and two “potential humans…currently named Cobrahead and Gütküttr.” (That’s his way of saying: they’re expecting!)
