Junot Díaz on the Writing Life

By

…nothing calls for the paper shredder like a story that the writer clearly hasn’t sat on. A story that hasn’t been rewritten, or rewritten enough. So many writers that I encounter send their work in so soon. It shows, it really does.

The Daily Beast interviews Junot Díaz about his writing process, the Voices of Our Nation workshop, and of course, the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack.

Bonus: he has some reading recommendations (Art Spiegelman, Octavia Butler) that we should all take note of.
