File this under the “What, Really?” section of your daily newspaper: a library aide has been fired for the promotion of reading.
In upstate New York, library aide Lita Casey was fired because she voiced her opinion on a controversial new rule in their library reading contest. Rather than having the prizes given at random, Casey believed that the winner of the contest should be based on the amount of books read.
In light of this news, we’d like to remind you to thank your librarians for all of their hard work.
