Back in 2012, we published an essay by Lauren Becker called “Safety” about her experience being stalked. It was beautifully written and one of the scariest things you’ll ever read.
Now, almost a year later, she’s written a followup piece for Nailed about the aftermath of that essay and life after escaping her stalker:
I thought it would be healing to write about it. I was safe. I live in a fortress. And I thought I could write about it and make sense of it, like I do with fiction. It made things worse.
