Wednesday 11/6: The Booksmith hosts the 14 Hills’ Michael Rubin Award Reading and Celebration. This year’s winner Sarah Heady will read from and talk about her winning manuscript, now the book Niagara Transnational. Free, 7pm.
Thursday 11/7: Coeditors Nona Caspers and Joell Hallowell celebrate the release of their new book Lawfully Wedded Wives, twenty true tales of love, sex, and commitment in the 21st century. A number of participants from the book will be reading, answering questions, and screening their ten-minute film. Free, 6:30pm, Gay & Lesbian Center at the San Francisco Public Library Main Branch.
Friday 11/8: Green Apple Books welcomes three members of the Oulipo, Oulipo president Paul Fournel, local member Daniel Levin Becker, and novelist Hervé Le Tellier, for a reading from Atlas Press’s recently released collection, Winter Journeys. Free, 7pm.
Saturday 11/9: Writers with Drinks is back at the Make-Out Room with readings and performances by Austin Grossman, Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant, Julie Ann Long, C.W. Gortner, and Gene Luen Yang. $5-10 (no one turned away), all proceeds benefit the Center for Sex and Culture. 9:30pm, doors open at 7.
