Rumpus Essays Editor Roxane Gay spoke to Joshunda Sanders at Buzzfeed about her debut novel An Untamed State and her forthcoming collection of essays, Bad Feminist. Gay offers some advice to writers and bloggers:
You have to be consistent. You have to be yourself. You have to be committed to what you’re doing. You have to not be afraid to be ambitious. You don’t want to be so focused on yourself and what you’re doing that you forget to read other writers.
