Monday 8/4: DTLAB by Writ Large Press presents Death of the Solitary Writer. Joe Loya and Caitlin Myer read from their individual works, as well as the work they created together. They will also discuss the collaboration process. 7 p.m. at Traxx.

Tuesday 8/5: Ann Hamilton presents and signs Expecting. 7 p.m. at Book Soup.

Matthew Stewart discusses and signs Nature’s God: The Heretical Origins of the American Republic. 7 p.m. at Vroman’s Bookstore.

Wednesday 8/6: DTLAB by Writ Large Press presents Whiskey Writing Wednesday with Traci Akemi Kato-Kiriyama. Gather to write and discuss writing. Neat, or on the rocks? 7 p.m. at Traxx.

Thursday 8/7: DTLAB by Writ Large Press presents Stories of Joy: A Black Man of Happiness Project. Hosted by and featuring Peter J. Harris, this is part open mic, part storytelling night, with live music by Gina Loring. 7 p.m. at Traxx.

Spencer Quinn discusses and signs Paw & Order. 7 p.m. at Vroman’s Bookstore.

Friday 8/8: Kelli Stanley presents and signs City of Ghosts. 7 p.m. at Book Soup.

Roar Shack presents The Truth Will Always Be. Featuring readings by Ashaki Jackson, Cecil Castellucci, last month’s Live write winner Taaji Rauf, and Tara Ison. Featuring another Live Write competition where two members of the audience get to compete against two of the readers, and can win a spot in the next lineup! 4 p.m. at 826LA Echo Park.

Rhapsodomancy presents readings by four Writ Large Press authors. 7 p.m. at The Good Luck Bar. $10 suggested donation. 21+ only.

Xach Fromson is a native Angeleno and the co-host/co-founder of Shades & Shadows, a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/etc. reading series here in LA. He studied creative writing at California State University Northridge, where he worked on The Northridge Review.
