In his own vivid prose, Shteyngart savors the delectable difficulty of Bellow’s writing, muses on the changing nature of being an American Jew in a post-Larry David, post-Seinfeld world, and nominates a Bellow sentence as “One of the Best Examples of Jewish Thought in the Twentieth Century.”
