Song of the Day: “Strange Brew”
Since the Wu Tang Clan introduced their own version of the word in the 90s, “cream” has come to be associated with the almighty dollar bill. But the first musical act to popularize the word was probably the supergroup formed in 1966 by drummer Ginger Baker, bassist Jack Bruce, and blues guitarist Eric Clapton. At the time of their collaboration, the three artists saw themselves as the “cream of the crop” in the UK music scene. Cream’s wildly catchy and psychedelic hit, “Strange Brew,” proves that the stage name was deserved.
