Friday 12/4: The Book Cellar hosts Jen Lancaster, Stacey Ballis, Wendy McClure, Amy Guth, Claire Zulkey, and other funny favorites at the 9th Annual Witty Women Writers Event. 7 p.m.

Pushcart Prize-nominated author Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow shares excerpts from her book of collected memoirs, My Gift of Now. Stephanie Douglass, Mary Bonnett, and Richard Aleskow join her at Women & Children First, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday 12/5: Kathryn Aalto discusses The Natural World of Winnie-the-Pooh: A Walk Through the Forest That Inspired the Hundred Acre Wood. Newberry Library, 1 p.m.

City Lit Books celebrates the release of Kinda Sorta American Dream, the short story collection debut by Steve Karas. Karas, Ben Tanzer, Leesa Cross-Smith, and James Yates read. 5 p.m.
