Young artists aim to ignite communal pride, educate on issues of inequality and violence, and display the marginalized voices of Isla Maciel on every surface of the community with beautiful murals—some painted by artists as young as thirteen. At Mic, Daniel Wein talks with Milu Correch, a member of PINTÓ La ISLA, about the organization’s efforts to inspire the local youth and fight for Isla Maciel’s cultural identity.
