Sunday 8/28: Spend your afternoon at the Highland Park Library in St. Paul to hear poetry performances by Marjorie Saiser, James Cihlar, and William Reichard. 1:30 p.m., free.

Wednesday 8/31: A collaboration between Dreamhaven Books and Science Fiction Minnesota, the twenty-year-old Speculations Reading Series aims to highlight a new speculative fiction author each month. This month you can hear Conrad Zero read from his latest work. Dreamhaven Books. 6:30 p.m., free.

Thursday 9/1: Sequoia Nagamatsu will read from Where We Go When All We Were is Gone (Black Lawrence Press) at Magers and Quinn. Guest readers also include Salvatore Pane, Harmony Neal, and John Colburn.  7 p.m., free.

Saturday 9/3: Come hear murder/mystery author Glen Ickler read from his new book, A Cold Case for Killing, at the St. Paul Barnes and Noble. 2 p.m., free.
