Sunday 9/4: Magers and Quinn hosts poet Holly J. Hughes and memoirist BJ Hollars for a literary reading centered around extinct birds. Seriously. Their work forecasts climate change and its effect on all species. 5 p.m., free.

Monday 9/5: Button Poetry Live, a monthly spoken word reading series, features National Underground Poetry Slam Champion, Will Giles. The show will also spotlight collaborative slam poets, the Asia Project. Camp Bar Twin Cities. 8 p.m., free, but 10$ donations encouraged.

Wednesday 9/7: Kathleen Glasgow reads from her new, critically-acclaimed novel Girl in Pieces (Delacorte) at Magers and Quinn. 7 p.m., free.

Thursday 9/8: Opening night of the Graywolf Literary Salon showcases Anuradha Roy, Solmaz Sharif, and Monica Youn in conversation. Aria. 6 p.m, $30.

Emilie Buchwald reads from her new collection, The Moment’s Only Moment, at the Loft Literary Center, as a part of the Nodin Press Book Launch. The Loft at Open Book, Performance Hall. 7 p.m., free.

Friday 9/9: Minnesota author Fiada Fey reads from her collection of sci-fi and horror stories, Paranoid Suicidal Pillhead Psycho, accompanied by DJ Hypertension, a sci-fi art exhibit, and free beer. Boneshaker Books. 6 p.m., free.

Saturday 9/10: Join Aurelia Willis as she launches her new novel, Someone I Wanted to Be (Penguin), at Subtext Books. 6 p.m., free.
