This week’s theatre recommendation is Ursula Rami Sarma, A Thousand Splendid Suns, a world premier at A.C.T., based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini. A Thousand Splendid Sun offers a complex epic the likes of which is rarely seen in contemporary theatre. Its style may be old fashioned, but it is undeniably rich, satisfying, and deeply moving. This story of war and refugees, covering the experience of three Afghani women from three generations could not possibly more pertinent at the present time. Read a review here.
