Tuesday 3/21: Meet the Minnesota Book Award finalists with a reception hosted at Open Book. The Friends of the St. Paul Public Library and The Loft Literary Center will host this chance for the public to meet the finalists in person, including Stephanie Wilbur Ash, Sun Yung Shin, Chris Santiago, and Louise Erdrich. 6 p.m., free.
The March installment of Carol Connolly’s Readings by Writers series focuses literary artists of Irish descent. Readers include Tom Dahill, Mike Finley, Laura McKenzie, Ethna McKiernan, and Karie Oberg. University Club of St. Paul. 7:30 p.m., free.
Wednesday 3/22: Moon Palace books presents Duncan Barlow, Tobias Carroll, and Dylan Hicks, three fiction writers who’ll read from their newest work. 7 p.m., free.
Thursday 3/23: The 11th Annual Motherhood & Words Reading hosted by local author Kate Hopper will highlight literature by mothers. Featured readers will be Shannon Gibney, Susan Ito, and Judy Batalion. Open Book. 7 p.m., free.

Friday 3/24: 2017 Loft Mentor and memoirist Laura Flynn will read for the public as a part of the Loft Mentor Series. She’ll be joined by poet Anthony Ceballos and fiction writer Trisha Collopy. Open Book. 7 p.m., $10.
Saturday 3/25: Asemic Translation is a unique reading by various asemic artists and scholars. Featured performers will be accompanied by Ghostband. This event is co-sponsored by Rain Taxi and MCBA. Minnesota Center for Book Arts. 7 p.m., free.
Upstairs from MCAB, you can hear performance poetry from the Loft’s own Spoken Word series, Equilibrium. March’s installment will feature Sham-e-Ali Nayeem with Giles Li accompanied by DJ NAK.
