Tuesday 9/5: Twin Cities Artful Book Club is book club open to anyone who is interested in discussing stories relevant to the lives of artists. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing and September’s book is A Summer of Hummingbirds by Christopher Benfey. Hopkins Center For the Arts, 6:30 p.m., free.
TruArtSpeaks is hosting a joint book release party for poets Danez Smith and Donte Collins. Tish Jones and Keno Evol will host, and the event will also feature Sarah Ogutu and Hieu Minh Nguyen. Black Dog Cafe Lowertown, 7 p.m., free.
Thursday 9/7: It’s Literature Lovers’ Night Out, September Edition! It’s a celebration of all things literary, and it’s hosted by Valley Bookseller. Featured speakers will include Gabrielle Zevin, Eleanor Brown, J.T. Ellison, Leah Weiss, and Ann Hood. Trinity Lutheran Church, 7 p.m., $11, RSVP.
