Indie press Two Dollar Radio has opened a bookstore and event space in Columbus, Ohio.

Key West Island Books, hit hard by Hurricane Irma, returns to service and launches a fundraising campaign.

Bestselling author Ta-Nehisi Coates will be focusing his current book tour on independent, black-owned bookstores.

Kew Gardens, Queens has a new bookstore thanks to the ongoing efforts by former Barnes & Noble employees who launched a Kickstarter after the retailing giant left the borough of 2.3 million.

The Internet is helping bookstores connect with customers for less money than ads in the Yellow Pages. (Yellow Pages were directories that listed phone numbers of businesses before the Internet.)
