Friday 11/10: Visit Women & Children First for a free reading, Q&A, and book-signing to celebrate the paperback release of Timothy Stewart-Winter’s Queer Clout: Chicago and the Rise of Gay Politics. 7:30 p.m., free.

Saturday 11/11: The Chimera Reading Series continues at Uncharted Books. Readers include Tyrell Collins, Steph Jurusz, and Laura Knickelbine. 5 p.m., BYOB, donations to Days for Girls encouraged.

The Lettered Streets Press is inviting YOU to come INTERACT with their books. Want to write to the author in the margins? Cut up a paragraph on page ten? Jog in place while reading aloud and texting to your mom? You can do it all at Read/Write Library. 7 p.m., $25 at the door.

Sunday 11/12: As always, the Uptown Poetry Slam is going down at The Green Mill. Open mic starts at 7 p.m. followed by the slam itself. $7, 21+.

Wednesday 11/15: Women & Children First hosts Laura Shapiro in conversation with Sara Paretsky. 7:30 p.m., free.

Thursday 11/16: Chicago poet Fatimah Asghar responds to artwork in the Art Institute of Chicago’s galleries for Islamic Art. 12 p.m., free with museum admission.

Head to Volumes Bookcafe to celebrate the launch of Jamie Freveletti’s Blood Run. 7 p.m., free.
