Tuesday 11/21: It’s the November edition of Carol Connolly’s Reading by Writers! This month brings together seven artists whose work will fill in the statement “The future is ____.” Featured readers will include Caitlin Bailey, Zoë Bird, Paula Cisewski, Francine Conley, Brett Elizabeth Jenkins, Ali O’Reilly, and Sagirah Shahid. Wednesday 11/22: St. Paul Almanac will be presenting Brittany Lynch, Dr. Sheronda Orridge, and Joe Davis in “Knowledge of Self,” the November edition of the Lowertown Reading Jam. Black Dog Cafe, 7:30 p.m., free.

Here’s a thing: This one is for all the children’s literature writers out there! The Yiddish Book Center is accepting application for their 2018 residency program. It’s a week long residency, it’s about all thing kid’s lit, and it even includes a travel stipend. Can’t go wrong there.
