Album of the Week: Mint Field’s Pasar De Las Luces

Estrella Sanchez and Amor Amezcua are twenty-one and hail from Tijuana, Mexico. Long before having an album, the music they created under the moniker “Mint Field” has generated buzz, earning them a slot at Coachella in 2016. Now, the duo has finally released their debut LP, Pasar De Las Luces, on Innovative Leisure.

Thirteen tracks spanning psychedelia, post-rock, shoegaze, and krautrock, showcase a music talent that learns from the old masters’ lessons but never results in nostalgic mannerisms. Amezcua’s synths and Sanchez’s vocals craft the perfect soundtrack to get lost in, clearing the head from earthly concerns and allowing us to float through the never-ending universe of human emotions.
