Tuesday 4/10: The Writers Without Borders series presents a reading by poet Eduardo Espina. Hosted by Charles Bernstein. 6 p.m. at Kelly Writers House.

The Galactic Philadelphia science fiction reading series presents authors Sam J. Miller and Samuel R. Delany! 7:30 p.m. at The Irish Pub.

Wednesday 4/11: The Hatchery series returns with featured readers Alina Pleskova, Mike Deagler, and Daniel Torday! 7 p.m. at The Monkey Club.

Voicemail Poems founder jamie mortara is coming through Philadelphia on tour for their new poetry collection Good Morning America I Am Hungry and On Fire! They will read alongside past VMP contributors Zach Blackwood, Faye Chevalier, Kirwyn Sutherland, and Amy Saul-Zerby. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books and Records.

Thursday 4/12: The launch party for Miriam Seidel’s new novel The Speed of Clouds will feature a reading by the author, as well as a book signing! 7 p.m. at Narberth Bookshop.

Poet and recording artist Ursula Rucker will guide participants through the process of writing and performing their own poetry for camera in “Poetry from the Stage and Camera.” 7 p.m. at Scribe Video Center.

The new Shockwire Chapbook Series, which recognizes the need to raise the storytelling stakes in response to intimidation, fear, and inequality, will launch with readings by Nadine Al-Barqawi, Patrick McNeil, and MK Punky. 6:30 p.m. at The Soup Kitchen Café. 

Friday 4/13: Annie Paradis’s The Slam returns with guest poet Angelo Colavita! The comedians trying their hands at slam poetry will be Matthew Schmid, Caitlin Feeney, Chris Honey, Zak Korne, Emma Needleman, and Geoff Jackson. 7 p.m. at Good Good Comedy Theatre.

The Fuze Philly Poetry Slam presents the Last Chance Slam, which gives poets who haven’t yet participated this year one last chance to make it to the semi-finals! 8:30 p.m. at 4522 Baltimore Ave. 

Saturday 4/14: Big Blue Marble Bookstore will host an evening of readings featuring Robin Becker, Cynthia Arrieu-King, and Charlotte Boulay! 7 p.m. at Big Blue Marble Bookstore.

Frank O’Hara’s Last Lover presents the release of Ryan Eckes’s new book General Motors! Featuring readings Ryan Eckes and Laura Jaramillo. Hosted by Jason Mitchell. 7:30 p.m. at Sam’s Morning Glory Diner

PHIT comedy presents “With Mirth and Laughter,” an improvised play performed in Shakespearean style. Directed by Steve Kleinedler. 7 p.m. at Philly Improv Theater.

Sunday 4/15: The April edition of Excuse My Dust, an hour of wit, writing, and weirdness, will feature readings by Nicole Phoenix, Chris McCreary, and Dan Vetrano, and as always, free boxed wine! Hosted by Jaime Fountaine. 8 p.m. at Good Good Comedy Theatre.
