We are sad to announce that our current Interviews Editor, Elon Green, will be moving on. Elon has been an asset to The Rumpus, and he’ll be missed. But, we’re excited to see what he does next!
Luckily, Elon will be leaving us in capable hands. We’re thrilled to announce that contributor Monet Patrice Thomas will be stepping into the Interviews Editor role! Monet is a poet and writer from North Carolina. She has an MFA from the Inland Northwest Center for Writers at Eastern Washington University, and her work can be found online at places such as Hobart Pulp, Word Riot, and Split Lip Magazine. Monet has been contributing to The Rumpus for some time now, and we are beyond excited to have her join our editorial staff.
Also coming aboard are Amanda Malone and Janet Frishberg, who will work with Monet as Assistant Interviews Editors. Amanda is a recent graduate of the MFA program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Her fiction has previously appeared in CHEAP POP, Wyvern Lit, and Chicago Literati, among others, and she currently lives and writes in Georgia. Janet is mostly based in San Francisco, where she’s currently at work on a memoir. Her writing has been published with Catapult, Electric Literature, The Rumpus, and Joyland Magazine, and is forthcoming from [PANK]. She’s an alumna of UC Berkeley, The Kenyon Writers’ Workshop, and The Squaw Valley Community of Writers.
A warm welcome to Monet in her new role, and to Amanda and Janet, and a “see ya soon” and best of luck in your next endeavors to Elon!
