Wednesday 8/29: The Speculations Readings Series for August will feature novelist, inventor, and biomedical engineer J Lloren Quill. Thursday 8/30: Join SubText Books for a reading with Cecilia Konchar Farr. Farr will read and discuss her book, The Ulysses Delusion, and a signing will follow. SubText Books, 7 p.m., free.
Every last Thursday of the month, poets, musicians, and musers gather among the books and around the piano to share their work. Hosted by local musician Peter Breen, the Open Mic is a space to experiment with new work, to unearth old work, or practice in front of a humble crowd. All are welcome to share or just to listen.
