Tuesday 9/25: The Creative Writing MFA at Rutgers-Camden is thrilled to present their first public reading of the semester, featuring readings by MFA students Phillip DiCicco, Alex Luke, and Dani Oliver, as well as local writer Emma Copley Eisenberg. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books and Records.

Wednesday 9/26: Moonstone Poetry presents readings by Catherine Bancroft and Lisa Grunberger, followed by an open mic. 7 p.m. at Fergie’s Pub.

The Kelly Writers House will host “Other Women Don’t Tell You: The Poetics of Motherhood,” a discussion and reading featuring four poet mothers. Come hear from Ananda Lima, Ursula Rucker, Sara Burnett, and Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach. 6 p.m. at Kelly Writers House.

Friday 9/28: The Loose Reading Series returns with readings by Frankie Baker, Prairie M. Faul, Lilith Kulp, and Blanche Amelia S. Brown. 6 p.m. at Dahlak Paradise.

Celebrate the release of the September/October issue of The American Poetry Review with readings by contributors Mark McCloughan, Nomi Stone, and Devon Walker-Figueroa. 7 p.m. at Brickbat Books.

Saturday 9/29: Penn Book Center will host a late afternoon poetry reading featuring Laura Henriksen, Bridget Talone, and Nicole Wallace. 4:30 p.m. at Penn Book Center. 

Monday 10/1: Misty Rosso will host a Halloween-themed edition of the Community Drafts open mic series. Spooky material and costumes suggested. 8 p.m. at Lucky 13 Pub.
