Tuesday 4/23: Magers + Fig is a bi-monthly book club for engaging conversation on climate change and the role food plays in our environment. This week’s meeting will include a discussion of The Omivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan. Books are available for purchase at Magers & Quinn. Wednesday 4/24: Join Milkweed Editions for an evening honoring the vitality of the poetry community and three poets published in 2019 by the press: Lee Ann Roripaugh, Alex Lemon, and Su Hwang. Come for the poetry-themed drinks, stay for the actual poetry! Milkweed Editions, 6 p.m., $10 suggested donation (no one will be turned away for lack of funds).

Thursday 4/25: Join the East Side Freedom Library for a reading featuring the writers collected in the publication Fierce Lament, edited by Camille Gage from Red Bird Chapbooks. Saturday 4/27: Come to Moon Palace Books for a celebration of poets and poetry, words, independent bookstores and the radiant literary community we have here in the Twin Cities. The reading will feature dozens of poets, and will happen in three sections with short intermissions in between so you can get yummy food, delicious drinks, or grab that book that’s been in the corner of your eye since you got to Moon Palace.
