The latest Crawl Out Thursday at the Penn Museum will be co-hosted by YallaPunk, a Philadelphia-based cultural arts organization that is redefining the narrative for Southwest Asian North African individuals through the arts. The evening will feature performances by Andrea Abi-Karam, Maryan Nagy Captan, Becca Khalil, Roger Mgrdichian, and Julius Masri, as well as DJ Rana Ransom. 6 p.m. at Penn Museum.
Head House Books will host a reading by Diane Dewey, author of Fixing the Fates: An Adoptee’s Story of Truth and Lies. 7:30 p.m. at Head House Books.
Saturday 6/8: A Novel Idea on Passyunk will host part one of a weekend with Glassworks Magazine, featuring a publishing panel and Q&A led by Glassworks Editor-in-Chief Katie Budris. 11:30 a.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.
The Frank O’Hara’s Last Lover poetry series will return with readings by Taylor Johnson, Gabriel Ojeda-Sagué, and Jason Zuzga. Hosted by Jason Mitchell. 7:30 p.m. at Sam’s Morning Glory Diner.
Shakespeare & Co. will host a reading by Patsie McCandless, author of Becoming Jesse: Celebrating the Everyday Magic of Childhood. 1 p.m. at Shakespeare & Co. Rittenhouse.
Sunday 6/9: The second part of Glassworks Magazine weekend at A Novel Idea will feature a flash fiction workshop led by Glassworks staff. $15-20 sliding scale, pre-registration preferred. 1 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.
Monday 6/10: The Free Library’s Song-Poems series will return with a series of poetry-inspired short-form compositions and textural improvisations by Magnetic Bells. 6 p.m. at Free Library of Philadelphia.
