Moonstone Poetry will present “Where I’m From”, an evening of readings featuring Deborah Burnham, Jerry Morgan, and Candida Rodriguez, as well as an open mic. Hosted by Alina Macneal and Jennifer Hooks. 7 p.m. at Fergie’s Pub.
Head House Books will host a conversation about young adult fiction between Laura Sibson, author of The Art of Breaking Things, and Alexandra Villasante, author of The Grief Keeper. 7 p.m. at Head House Books.
The Random Name Poetry Series will present readings by Natalie Lyalin and Michelle Taransky. Hosted by David Hancock. 7:30 p.m. at Dahlak Paradise.
Thursday 6/27: Blue Stoop will present Kate Hope Day, author of If, Then, in conversation with Annie Liontas. 6:30 p.m. at Shakespeare & Co.
Friday 6/28: The Head & the Hand will host the fourth annual Philly Lit Spelling Bee, a competition between local literary organizations that doubles as a fundraiser for their Philadelphia-based small press. Tickets are $10 at the door. 6 p.m. at The Head & the Hand.
Saturday 6/29: A Novel Idea on Passyunk will host a reading by local poet Nicole Steinberg in celebration of her most recent chapbook Fat Dreams. The evening will also feature readings by Zach Blackwood, Christopher Gonzalez, and Rae Pagliarulo. 7 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.
“Lo nuestro es orgullo”, the latest installation of Raquel Salas Rivera’s monthly poetry reading series for poets of color, will feature special guest, Puerto Rican poet and editor Nicole Cecilia Delgado, as well as Victor Jackson and Ángel Isián Rivera. This month’s reading will be co-hosted by Kirwyn Sutherland. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books & Records.
