Tuesday 8/6: A Novel Idea on Passyunk will host an evening with John Oliver Mason, author of All of the Above, Mutterings, and Out of the Box. 6 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.

The Free Library will present readings by Richard Russo, author of Chances Are…, and Amy Hempel, author of Sing to It. 7:30 p.m. at Free Library of Philadelphia. 

Wednesday 8/7: A Novel Idea will host a reading and book signing with Ellen LaCorte, author of The Perfect Fraud: A Novel. 7 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.

Thursday 8/8: Thirty West Publishing will present readings by Faye Chevalier, Jane-Rebecca Cannarella, Richelle Kota, Sean Lynch, and Ryan J. Torres. 8 p.m. at Tattooed Mom. 

Monday 8/12: The August edition of Poems Night, a monthly poetry event showcasing up-and-coming spoken word talent followed by a lottery-style open mic, will feature readings by Kailey Tedesco and Victoria Mae. Hosted by Stephanie Czapla. 7 p.m. at HOT•BED.

A Novel Idea will host the release of Love&Wages, a collection of poetry and prose by Jim Trainer. The evening will also feature readings by Charlie O’Hay and Rob Kaniuk. 7 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.

Painted Bride Quarterly will present an evening of poetry featuring readings by Danielle Evans, Daniel Jones, Royce Drake, and Luke Stromberg. 7:30 p.m. at Black Sheep Pub & Restaurant.

Shakespeare & Co. will present Adam O’Fallon Price, author of The Hotel Neversink, in conversation with J. Robert Lennon. 6:30 p.m. at Shakespeare & Co. Rittenhouse.
